Where is Magnasteer control Module on 1996-97 ONLY
Hi guys, I'm retrofitting the Magnasteer variable assist rack to my 97 which did not originally have it. The Magnasteer for 96 and 97 ONLY has a little black control box which plugs into the neck of the steering rack on one end, and takes a signal from the VSS on the other end. Can anyone tell me WHERE this Magnasteer module is in the car? I found several local yards that have complete 96-97s with Magnasteer, but I'm not allowed to pull parts myself, so I have to tell the guys where this control module is so they can pull it. If anyone has a real deal factory manual for the 96-97 that should do it, the haynes/chiltons don't show little parts like this. Basically I need to know if this module is on the firewall in the engine bay, or inside the car under the dash (God help me if it is under the dash, I'll have to convince the junkyard guys to find it). I might take a ride out to Harrys U pull it in Hazleton, PA tomorrow. They had a series II LSS, which hopefully is still there.

Does anybody work at a dealership or have a manual that can tell me where this 1996 and 1997 only standalone Magnasteer module is located? I'm installing the new rack tomorrow night and will probably drive back to CT without the controller plugged into the rack, but I'll be looking to get the magnasteer active over the next week if I can figure out where to look for the module.
