to my knowledge none of the aftermarket uppers have failed yet...but i also failed to visit the forums for quite a while so maybe it happened then...and usually your lower gaskets are crap anyway..i know mine sure were...so its kind of a good idea anyway...you can spend 150-200 and do it yourself....thats cheap compared to the things that could happen when it fails...i got lucky, others havent been so lucky.

L27...if you have the time and the money. You might want to, because sooner or later if you don't, it'* going to happen when you don't have time or money.
It'* one of those definates in life...sucks to know...but it is going to happen.

i dunno didnt vital have his aftermarket go out on him?
I'm not convinced the UIM is failing, but I do know for a fact that the UIM gaskets are leaking. So, since I have to change the UIM gasket, I will put on a fresh, sleeved UIM from Bob Dillon (should be to my house any day now) and also change the lower intake gaskets. It'* been 40K miles since I did the work last year so I'm anxious to see how the Fel Pro lower intake gaskets have held up. I will definitely have my camera out for this one!

Mine hasn't failed yet...thankfully...I will definatly check it every week from now on though....
I had a 96 Lumina that failed at around 80k....I didn't know it until about 115k when the bearings went....

I just hope the supercharger kit comes out soon so I dont have to worry about it ever again.
