What exactly is KR and how should I read it with OBD 1.5?
Hey, my 95 still isn't running too well and it only gets bad when i give it alot of throttle but runs fine otherwise. all vaccume lines have been replaced and it had a tune up. what could be the issue? i have no SES light so i can't read any codes. I was reading another thread and saw that it was about KR and how it increases with boost and i was wondering if it could cause an engine to run like crap. only issue is I have OBD 1.5 and am not sure what to do. my buddy has HPTuners and can monitor cars, but he said it may not work cause its OBD 1 with an OBD2 style connector. any ideas on how to check this and what knock retard really is or does to the driveability of a car?

1 degree of KR takes away about 5 HP IIRC
what octane gas are you using?
there is no real effect of driveability unless you are looking for maximum power or are getting spark knock constantly (the reason for knock retard) which can chip pistons
