Default Upper strut bearing

Yep, she'* starting to bind up. Driver'* side. Can this be a home repair to replace the bearing? Or will the spring need to be compressed and all that shop crap? What can I do to make it free up some and last longer?

I suggest replacing the bearing plates. I bought mine on Ebay and got 2 for the price of one. Search on Ebay the same guy has more on there. 2 Bearing plates delivered to me was like $50.00 including shipping. These plates were also Gabrial'* # 142226.

Thanks,

Default Strut Bearings

They're not all that hard to replace. You can get a spring compressor from autozone or buy them from harborfreight.com... really inexpensive.

They take 1 -2 hours depending on your tool set and how big a hammer you have to drive out the lower bolts. you will need an alignment afterwards.

HI,
The bearing that your going to try and lube with some kind of spray is on the bottom of the plate. I doubt that the spray will actually hit the bearing. Spend the $50.00 and you'll be alot happier.
