I would disconnect your battery and let it set a half and hour and reconnect it to see if the problem resolves itself. But, make sure you double check all your connections while the battery is disconnected.

Someone had that problem...and either a 1/2 hour of battery off or a couple days corrected it.
Sounds like you are back together Nick..great job!!!

Any other Ideas?
Anyone with a 97FSM that can check if this problem means anything?

Nick, mine blinks too, but works fine...I am sure that the ECC temp blinking is a tool to tell a technician the ECC has recorded a problem and has a code...I am also pretty sure that the only way to remove the code and stop the blinking is by taking it to a dealer or you have to have a tech I or tech II scanner. But, operation of the system should be ok...are you having any problems or is the blinking just driving you nuts?
I'll double-check the FSM for ya.

There is a feedback wire coming off of the BCM output that tells the HVAC programmer that BCM is giving the correct amount of voltage to the blower motor.
It'* a little difficult to verify if it is intermittent though. If it is happening with any regularity, you can check the BCM output with a volt meter when it is acting up. You can also have the codes read at the dealer to tell you exactly what the problem is.

Just happened to have the FSMs in the trunk today
HVAC programmer contains self-diagnostics. When a fault is detected, the dispaly panel will flash indicating a diagnostic trouble code (specific to the HVAC programmer) has been stored. These codes can be read and cleared onll with more sophisticated scanners than you or I have, Nick.
But there is some good news...
If you don't want to take it to a dealer or you don't have access to a scanner that is capable or reading and clearing the HVAC codes, then...
Any codes in the HVAC programmer memory are cleared AFTER 50 drive cycles without a reoccurance of the code.

Problems, none with the AC, the blinking is driving me nuts because I am not aware of any problems or past history of any here on this foum....
Thanks for checking with your FSM when you get a chance and getting back to me.
I need to get everything worked out in the car, I need to drive the car to Orlando Fl in late Jan or early Feb. My daughter lives in Florida, is pregnant and has not had a car for the last 12yrs. She is 31 and has never had the funds or credit to get one. She needs a dependable car for her and the baby and instead of looking for a used car for her, my wife (stepmom) and I deided to give her the 40th. It has been a great car and very dependable and knowing she has it to drive she can be safe and I can not worry too much.
I hope the father of the baby and her get married but you never know.

Hopefully, the 40th will serve your daughter well...does this mean we will lose you from our little club? :(
