I Did clean up the throttlebody, but I couldn't get the IAC secsor off without stripping the screws.
I had a vaccum leak somewhere that would go away when I took the cover off the oil fill hole.
I took everything apart to check the intake manifold gasket to see if it had moved and reaplied the RTV, this time I didn't thouch the gasket as I was installing the manifold.
I rechecked the torque on all of the bolts.
I started up the car to get a little whine again, but the whine will go away under acceleration and the engine still races from the extra air.
Today I don't hear the whine but the engine still races.
should I try another gasket?
I bought this one at a NAPA store and it wasn't a fel pro?
Could the gasket be bad?
Should I have any oil on top of the intake manifold when I take off the UIM?
At least i'm getting better at taking the intake manifold off.

What i'm getting is more like a whistling sound. Is this air passing through a narrower EGR tube?
The sound goes away under acceleration.
Could It be the UIM gasket leaking?

How many? Check your old intake for the lower o-ring. It'* probably still in there. Someone with an L36 should double-check me on this, but there should be TWO if I recall correctly on the L36.

Yep the series 2 has TWO rings:

That'* a 1995 L36 engine - first year of the Series II found in N/A cars but your car should be the same. The ring might be black and could be hard to see.

The weight of the valve is calibrated for your engine, and the length needs to be correct to make the seal as I recall. The excess vacuum can indeed cause problems with the seals on the ends of the crankshaft. It sucks dirt into them, pulls them into a position they are not used to, and can cause them to fail.
Your car, I think, will have a MAP sensor on top of the cover, but the principle is the same, just make sure the valve body makes a good seal in the crankcase hole preventing vacuum from bypassing the valve.
