twilight sentinal
ok again with the t.*/ I need to know what are all the components are. I just replaced the switch and checked all the fuses. Is there a relay in addition to the sensor. ALso is the sensor the little dots on the dash(it is a 91 SSE)? I need to get this working again. i paid 20 for the switch and now i need the sensor or relay, I think. i dont know, this is all new to me. pLease help!!!!!!!!
Also, the odomoter went out on my 91. i works once in a blue moon. ive had the car for almost two years and travel 100 miles a day round trip and it says that i only put 7 miles on the car. it worked when i first got it, then i pushed the trip reset gauge to reset it to check the gas mileage and it hasnt worked since. It is not digital. Please help there tooo.

the headlights work just fine. i just dont have the sentinal working like on my 94. i just replaced the switch on it. 20 dollars and now i feel it was for nothing. Someone with a early model SSE let me know if your sentinals work. It is bothersome. I love the feature on my 94 because at night i do not have to use my headlights. Please advise

It is a complicated system. The Twilight Sentinel is controlled on the 94 by a lamp control module. I would start with the photocell, on the drivers side of the dashboard. The resistance is supposed to range from 15,000 ohms in the day to 20,000,000 ohms at night.
Also check to make sure the yellow and black wire coming from the switch has a ground when the Sentinel control is turned on.

That would be my starting point. You'll need to do a little careful prying up of the panel containing that light cell in order to extract it. Again, I haven't done that myself yet; maybe somebody else here has some tips on that.
