Hey guys I am actually doing this for my dad. HE has had both torque rods that open his trunk break on him. I was wondering if anyone had any input on how to replace them and whether or not it required taking the trunk off, etc. Thanks.

You may need to replace the hinge assemby. It'* pretty straight forward, but the rear deck (speaker area) needs to be pulled to get at two bolts on each side.
