Hate to have to rebuild it. Unless I can get a rebuild kit cheaper than a decent used tranny. Never cracked open a trans b4, guess now'* the time to learn.

Ok, got the video up now. Beginning, its off, start up its quiet, then it starts whining at around 29 seconds, I give it a couple of revs at 58 seconds and I shut it off.

I will be leaving for work at 3:45 PM. So, don't expect any replies until sometime around 8PM.

Well, just got back from work. Almost anyway. It is now completley slipping. Full neutral in all gears. So, what do I need to do? Replace trans, or get a rebuild kit? If I get rebuild kit, I won't mind turning it into a forum project with pictures etc. I just need info on exactly what kind of tools I will need.

rebuilding a fwd automatic transmission can be a nightmare.
Unless you know someone that can do it or has experience I wouldnt even touch it.

Well, if I'm going to have to pull it, I might as well tear into it and see just how hard it would be to repair it. Come on now, if the Army was able to teach me how to tear turbine engines down to the main shaft, how much harder could a tranny be?
Plus, this could be a learning experience for the whole forum. Money is kinda tight at this time, so this would maybe take awhile. Plenty of time to get books, take pictures during the tear down etc. I do believe someone is still looking for more pics for the Tech forum.
Today, I might as well push the car out back and start on taking it apart. So far, the plan is to pull both engine and trans out as one unit. Will keep everyone posted.
