Transmission or differential?
Something is going - but I am not sure what. Let me explain, I have a 92 SSEi with 235,000 miles. If I go around a corner in town at low speeds, without prior stopping for the corner (such as at a stop sign), the trans / diff seems like it is trying to catch a splined shaft. It goes clunk - clunk - clunk. If I put it up in neutral, make a complete stop and return it to overdrive, I can continue on without a problem. Coming up to a stop sign, I have to do the same - or it attempts to 'lunge'. On the highway, one would not know that there is a problem, with the following exception. If I need to go from low speed of 20 - 30 miles per hour and hit WOT, the clunk - clunk - clunk returns, or it simply revs out. I have drove it this way for 2000 miles plus, but I do not trust it. Something is going to go - but what do I need to replace?
