were you hard on the car at all? Sounds like the car entered Limp Home mode... Keep in mind that the PCM in the 94-95 Does monitor Transmission temps and will go into limp home to save its self

Eric, how many miles on the tranny?
Also I reccomend AGAINST doing a transmission flush. Read more here. If you need help dropping the pan I can come over to help you and while were at it we can add a bottle of Lucas for insurance.
Be easy on the car when you drive it from now on. Yes its a 4t60 and will hold well, but drive it like crazy all of the time will shorten its life.

Drive the car over a dip and get it done. Your going to kiss that trans bye-bye if you don't. Tell me were comfort over rides the cost of a trans and labor of putting it in. It'll cost you $35 max for 6 bottles of trans fluid and a new gasket / filter.

of course, if he gets a spec of dirt in there while he does it, and it finds it'* way to the valve body, instead of a tranny that works well when not overheated, he'll have a tranny that won't shift...
Sorry, just reflecting on the last few days.
Anyway, if the fluid doesn't smell burnt, it'* fine. Color is never a good indicator (unless by color you mean you see chunks of your clutches floating in the fluid) of whether the fluid is good or bad. Burnt smell = bad. Slightly sweet smell = not bad.
I'd do that first, and then decide if my driving style needed to adjust to keep my trans more cool..

Comfort by butt. Jack the car up, set it up on blocks, and get under there. Its the easiest job in the world. I have done it before so if you need guidance and assistance, I can help you when I have time. Im also sure Tom has done it before, ask him and he will help you.
Next Monday I have a test to study for, but that Monday afternoon when im free or any other day that week just let me know when I can come over and I will help you. Eventually I will need to drop the pan on my own car so we might as well do it together.
No clue on the mileage? Was it with the engine that got swapped in or was it the same one that was with your car before?

I mean..we had our rear end gears replaced in my mom'* astro van to replace a whining sound, and then we took it to the dealer after we'd had him change 4 spider gears in the diff, and it was still making a whining osund, they said it was a new 99 style van with a 85-89 rear axel..the whole assemby was an 85-89 generation.. which means, he didn't replace the parts, he went out and got a cheap rear end. i'm weary about letting anyone touch my car at all since I've gotten it back.
