I disconnected the battery for half hour, in the mean time I disconnected all 3 connectors at the PCM and reconnected them within 5 minutes while the battery was still disconnected. I then reconnected the battery and took it for a test drive and the problem is still the same.
Thanks for the suggestion Bill.

Ok..the last things you were looking at were relays and charcoal cansiter.. Let'* hop back into those items.. pull the relays out for testing. And double check nothing is out of place on the evay canister.
Any check engine light?

I switched around 4 same amperage relays, checked all the large fuses overtop of the relays, rechecked the electical and vaccuum conections on the charcoal canister. checked for any loose wires.
The engine light has been on for awhile reading the IAT sensor and EGR, which is why I requested parts.
Still no change.
Thanks for the suggestion Bill.

You know... This is getting really freaky.... EGR Issues, Fan issues, and all of the sudden Shift issues... are all of the quad drivers failing on this cars computer?
Frank, what were the codes that you had or have had in the past?
also have you checked and cleaned the grounds at the driver and passenger foot wells...
With what doesn't work I'd be half tempted to swap a PCM in there just to see what happens... But not everyone has one sitting around for that very purpose...
Frank This is a 95 Bonneville correct? and its at 130-140,000 Miles?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I’ve been outside for a couple hours trying to retrace my steps to figure out what went wrong. Only thing I found was one burnt 10 amp fuse under the steering column, don't know what it belong to. It'* been replaced. Also the "H" pattern (resistor type thing, (see picture below) the connection broke again so I'm going to need a new one. But then again maybe I don't if the tranny'* gone.
Don, my pc'* hard drive went and the codes I had stored are gone, I know it was the IAT sensor and the EGR Valve. I'll see if I can find it.
I just have a strong feeling that loosing 1st and OD is an electrical issue. 2 gears in tranny just don't go like that.........do they?
Yes it'* a 95 and yes that'* the correct mileage.

Looking at the service manual, If the PCM detects a shift problem then the PCM will Default to 3rd gear and the TCC will be disabled...P0755
I remember you said you felt like you were starting out in 3rd gear...
There is also another for Vehicle Speed Sensor Range P0501
allows only 2nd and 3rd gears
It almost appears that you may have a bad solenoid " A " which may be stuck off when it should be on...
If you could have the Shop teacher look at it for you, you may at least get some better direction as to what the issue is... Maybe he can make your car a class project and fix what seems to be a minor trans issue.... If you do have a Solenoid issue, the solenoids are pretty cheap.. I do wish i was closer tho..
But it would be good to know what codes are stored in the PCM currently.. Not all codes set off the SES.. So anything is possible..

At this time the auto teacher has told Mick that the semester is winding down and they're not in a possition to take on new projects. I can ask if the instructor can at least read the codes. That may be a possibility.
I'm wondering if I'm causing transmission problems by driving the car?
Take a look at the sentence related to the cooling fans, are they related? This is taken out of the FSM titled "Auto Trans Diagnosis" page #2
Please read sentence outlined in red.

YES YES YES YES
Bill, Don Chime in Please.
The problem is electrical, I know that now.
I did 2 things in the last hour
I. replaced a 10 amp fuse underneath the driver’* dash, which I don't know what it belong to.
2. Resoldered a connection on the dual fan segment.
Once completed I took it for a test drive with the air box and IAT disconnected and I chirped the tires in 1st gear. When I finish putting everything back together again I'll check OD. Can we now conclude that the tranny isn't going? Guys I want to make it to NEBF so bad that I'm afraid to try to diagnose the dual fan relays. What do you think?
Bill, I'm afraid to add this to my wish list but I don't know how long my solder job is going to last since there wasn't much meat to solder to. Could you pretty please keep an eye out the the item below?
See picture below:
You have no idea how happy I am right now.
