Stinky smell from Bonnie ??
#11
I've had this smelly rotten egg/sulphur smell for about a month now.....started soon after replacing my O2 sensor. I installed a Bosch, but I'm thinking I'll just go to the dealer and get the OEM part to see if it makes a difference.......another thing I've noticed that leads me in this direction is a slight hesitation (almost dies) sometimes right after I start the car, then the idle evens out. Sounds very much like an O2 sensor to me. Sorry for dragging this post out, but I remembered someone else having this smell, which made me start thinking about it myself. Anyone else think I'm right here?

Wouldn't u also get a rotten egg smell if you're burning engine oil ?? I have yet to find the heater hose and all that Rat was talking about.. but I don't think I will have the time till the weekend...

It'* not the plugged up hose, and it'* not the Cat. It was new in May.....this all started very soon after the O2 sensor was changed, and it'* not all the time......depends on how I drive. Happens more around town on short trips. Did a 120mile round trip yesterday on I-5, and it didn't smell when I got home.

Same here... I don't smell it most of the time.. and if I drive hard.. I can smell it once in a while.. That'* why I was thinking if it was burning oil...( and in which case.. that means I have a leak/improper seal somewhere )

I know I'm not burning oil, either......this thing is fit as a fiddle. I know my smells, and it ain't that. That'* why I keep leaning towards the O2. I replaced it with a Bosch right before this started. I'm really tempted to go back to a new AC Delco sensor.

I agree w/willwren--definitely not oil burning--and even if it was--depending on how it was burning-there would be some kind of bluish smoke. I think it could be the cats or something w/the emissions--which leads to the exhaust.
