Stinkin Blower Motor
I drove my Father-in-laws 2000 Chevy S10 today and when I turned the AC on I noticed the air flow was much better than mine, maybe even twice the flow of air. I popped the hood to look at the size of the blower motor and it looked to be about the same size as mine. I got in my car and sure enough mine was a lot lower then his. I guess my question is how do I test the motor to see if it is on it'* way out? or is the resistor is bad? All of the climate controls work(like air mix/defrost etc.)

Yours could be clogged. Good luck getting it cleaned out. I seen the best way to get to the heater core is to remove the entire dash assemble.

What the??? Just noticed you have a 98 Bonneville? They all do that. Even after cleaning mine, it still does seem slow.

After a closer inspection I can see a hole right below the motor and now I remember there was a hose that went from the motor cover to the evap housing. So basically I have a quarter sized hole right in the middle of the AC system four inches from the engine. I forgot that I broke the hose and part of the motor when I was changing my valve cover gaskets.I assume thye hose just circulates air back to the motor keeping it cool? I'll cover the hole till I can get a new cover.

That hole is suppose to drain off any moisture.

You are going to have to replace the blower motor if you want to be able to reattach that blower motor EVAP hose, unless you are good at rigging things, I considered rigging mine somehow, but I decided that as soon as I get the money I am replacing it as I hate to rig anything, I like it done right.

Ok I taped the hole with a couple of layers of gorilla tape and it'* working well. But I still have less than great air flow. It'* starting to get hot here in Miami and I don't want to change the motor and it ends up being the resistor. What are some signs of a bad blower motor resitor and can I test mine to see if it'* bad?

If the resistor goes bad, your blower won't work on 1 or more modes. My blower does the same thing. On high, it doesn't seem like its pushing any air out.

Have you changed out your cabin air filter down there by the gas pedal? My 97 ultra was never changed I'd bet, as it came out in pieces all clogged up. One of them PITA jobs like the firewall plugs.never gets checked or replaced. but it did improve the air flow in my PA
