John...if the alternator was running slow..the battery should compensate. I like the thought on it though..because if the alt was going bad..the battery may not be fully charged.

I posted that as a "Been there done that" kind of thing. I've had vehicles (including The Missus' van) where either a bad alt, or battery, would cause the engine to stall r come close to it.

Took the car to the mechanic. Of course, it wouldn't act up for the mechanic, however, he cleaned the throttle plate and mass air flow sensor, and ever since (a week ago), the car has run like a new car. He couldn't find a definite cause.
