How many votes for a die grinder to the rivets holding the latch assy together???

I see myself in the garage, watching the INDY 500 thru the rear window, holding a die grinder to it.

I'll make sure and take pictures of the dead parts. As an engineer, I'll make sure the idiot at GM that designed this thing gets them ALSO.

Had the same problem myself. Pulled the door apart and dug till I saw the broken plastic plunger too. Never did the darn thing open or the part out. Took it into the dealer and $150 later it was fixed. Sometimes you just gotta say what the hey, it ain't worth the hastle or the thought of your kids stuck in the car in an accident.
