radiator queston..fixed
for both my 96 ssei and 95 sse
EDIT....95 SSE gauges don't work for the temp/oil pressure/and volts
EDIT....95 SSE gauges don't work for the temp/oil pressure/and volts
they both doing the same thing for the most part
like this morning drove my wifes car to work (25 minute drive) and when I parked and checked the fluids and such; noticed that the coolant res tank level went to the hot line, and the upper hose was pressurized and warm, the lower hose was pressurized and hardly warm kinda cold feeling.
oh, I had the heat blasting the whole way, didn't want it to overheat
so question is...is this normal?
I'm just paranoid right now with all the problems lately

well my 95 SSE has no way of telling the temp because the 3 right gauges don't work right.
but when I was driving my 96 SSEi when it did this it was running at like 205 when I got to work

after driving 74 mph steady for 20 minutes one way than sat for an hour than 20 minutes back..checked the radiator cap and lower hose both times after shutting off car and both times they both where cool to the touch..not even a littlle hot.
and the lower hose is pressurized as well.
and I loosened the radiator cap a bit after driving and the pressure made cool fluid come out, than warm fluid came out after a second or so.
but man...shouldn't the lower hose get somewhat warm after 20 minutes of driving.
thermostat is new. bought a 'carquest super stat'
help anyone.......
