Great. Well good to know all is well then.
So going out this morning, going to do the trans fluid and filter change. Ugh. nightmare. Hate doing this. anyways. It definitely feels MUCH stronger after that FF change, even though i could blow through it just fine...odd. :? But its gettin better all the time.
When I got it home last night...it was loping...JUST slightly. About 50 rpms, back and forth. Small thing, but i want it ROCK STEADY. What ELSE could possibly be causing this stupid idle?
Also, just another thing. this whole cat idea...which i;m thinking it still might be...
I let the car run for about 5 minutes from a cold start so that i could get the ramps in place and lay down some news paper...got it up on the ramps and shut it off...immidiately climbed under...and noticed that the downpipe was BLAZING hot, radiating heat, as was the cat...so i ran my hand back about 2 inches away to gauge heat and noticed that the extreme heat stopped right after the cat. it seems that there is some kinda backup of hot air at the cat. now..how much backpressure is normal from a normally operating cat?

My 93 SSEi (T2v, firm feel sterring) orignially had a loop that went all the way down the passenger side subframe and under the radiator. I shortened that loop quite a bit during Jinx'* last refit, and fully intend on replacing that loop altogether with a legit cooler.
My 94 SSE (non-T2V, firm-feel steering rack) does have the cooler.

Mmm, good info on the cooler. Yeah, my 89 has the loop in front of the condenser. Thats why i found it a bit odd.
Anyways. An update...
Did the transmission fluid change today, nearly scared myself to death...did the following...
TransTune for 220 miles (didn't plan on it being that long...but can't hurt)
Drained
Filled with 6 quarts, drove around town...and then did a WOT run just to get it nice and warm This is where i scared myself, i heard the trans pump SCREAMING. Got up to 5200 rpms in second and it WOULD NOT SHIFT. I was going OHHHHHH FRICK. So I let off and get back fast and check the fluid. There was maybe a DROP of fluid on the dipstick. It was FULL when I checked at home. SOB. So I immediately add one quart to it to cool it off and got it up in the hash marks. Immediately called don freakin out like a 5 year old girl asking if I murdered it.
Waited 20 mins for it to cool down...and then proceeded to drain the fluid. Yes...hot. And yes...it burned. So did that...cleaned everything up...replaced filter, replaced pan onto trans, torqued to 12 ft lbs and got out...filled with 6 quarts (all i have right now, on my way to the parts store to get more...GENTLY.
What a nightmare. I guess it takes 7.5 quarts with a pan drop! I don't know what damage I did to it.. :? But I hope not much.
Anyways, running out now to get the fluid...SLOWLY. and get this thing goin on!
I guess you learn from your mistakes! But wish I had known that before I did something stupid like that.

w00t! No permanent damage I don't think. Went up to advance and tossed 1.5 qts in and shes shiftin like new MUCH better than it was before. WOW this thing feels good. Shifts are MUCH quicker and smoother. Definitely smoothing out this car'* problems. Still has this intermittent quirky idle. Very strange, but its getting better all the time. Whats next on the list to check/replace/clean to solve this idle?
