I took the taillight assembly out, disassembled it enough to drain the water out, re-gooped it with windshield goop and put it back in. My local O'Reilly didn't have any of the sealant we used to call "elephant snot" which worked really good for sealing stuff like that. Kids working there are pretty smart, but I guess nobody calls it that anymore. They didn't have a clue. What I don't understand is why a leaky taillight would flood the trunk. Hmmm.... Does the water back up through the turn-signal plug and into the trunk?

re: eroded sunroof draintube. Where is that? Can you include pictures?

Kieth, it backs up in the light and comes into the trunk through the bulb hole. I typically drill three small holes in the housing lower than that to allow it to drain.
The sunroof drains are inside the A pillar and C pillar trim. Pull them out, you'll see them. Tubes should be checked to make sure they're connected to the sunroof front and rear, clear of any obstruction, and no holes. You can use a pitcher of water to test them with the roof open. Incline or decline the car in the driveway for testing front/rear.

To add to that, the rear drain tubes are the least likely to rot for some reason. The front ones are corrugated (spelling?), black, and smaller compared to the back tubes. Those three "qualities" I just mentioned play a huge part in how they hold up. Mine were extremely brittle and I accidentally broke one of the tubes.
I think Wren misunderstood your fan issue. He was talking about your engine coolant fans. I bet YOU are talking about your ac/heater fan. Quick fix for that is to pull the fuse associated with that. But to fix it...you will need to pull the underhood fuse center out (2 10mm nuts holding it in place), move it out of the way. Underneath that is your AC/heater core housing and blower motor. See those wires sticking out of the top? That module is bad.
Don't think for a second you have a lemon....all those problems you mentioned, are all common issues.

Thanks for the tips. Good idea to drill some holes in the taillight housing. And I'll bet that the drain tubes on the passenger'* side front AND the one in the rear are broken or clogged. Every part of the carpet is soaked except the driver'* side front! I think I'm going to have to pull the seats and take the carpet out to get it dry...
At this point I don't consider this car a lemon. True the supercharger rattles (probably the coupler), the AC/heater blower doesn't work right and it leaks water into the cabin. But the engine has a steady 40psi of oil pressure, it doesn't smoke on start-up, idle or driving down the road, all the electronics work (except the radio) and the brakes pull it down straight and hard. I rotated the tires and now it steers straight down the road too. It doesn't leak anti-freeze or oil and it doesn't rattle, even on our rough back roads. Pretty good car for a 14-almost-15 year old vehicle with 163,800 miles on it!
Anyway, with the help of you folks I'm getting all this stuff straightened out.

Do the front tubes look like a wire loom inside the a-pillar? There'* what looks like a wire loom and also two wires outside it.

Will--you're quick! Thanks. Now the dumb question. How do I test them and repair them? There are holes at the top front sides of the sunroof. If these are the right holes, do I just pour some water down them? Run a smaller plastic tube down them? Where is the water SUPPOSED to come out?

Back the car into the driveway or put it on ramps at the rear. Drop the nose.
Open the sunroof and pour a pitcher of water into the front corners near the drain holes in the 'gutter'. Watch for it to drain out through the lower rockers behind each front wheel. If one doesn't drain out there, make sure it'* not leaking out inside the car (in the a-pillar area or down by the footwells). If you need to, replace the tubing if it leaks, or run a piece of wire (compressed air works great for me) down through the tubes.
Leaves built up in the front door jambs down by the bottom corner of the front fenders can cause them to 'back up' and build up smaller debris. Make sure these areas are clear, as well as the holes under your rocker panels. Flushing out with a hose is best for the lower areas.
When the fronts are done, raise the nose of the car (turn it around or ramp the front) and reapeat for the rear.
