Oil leak any ideas... Updated why meeeeeee
#12
My '98 developed that hard-to-find oil leak, too...turns out it'* because the oil was watered down (literally) with coolant due to the famous intake manifold leak. Oil pan gaskets are designed to retain engine oil, not water. When that viscosity goes away, the gasket fails. FYI.

Well I think she'* fixed they say the main (crankshaft) seal was bad. We'll see, if tomorrow there'* little to no dripage than DING DING DING if not I'll be like this is I'm going to
Yes I know anti-freeze is very bad on gaskets designed for oil, my understanding is it drys them out and shrinks the rubber gaskets. Lucky me I don't have the series of intake that'* know to crack but I did have a blown intake gasket, but I can't recall losing any coolant or ever being told that my coolant is low.

Well she still leaking, what I don't get noe is the stuff dripping is dirty looking and some where between brown and pink and the oil that comes off the dipstick is mostly clear.
I'll check again tomorrow but this is getting depressing.

Well this really blows my intake manifold gasket blew out once again.
But I ask How oh How can this happen again after 8 months?
The mechanic'* reply,
Upon visual inspection Saturn of St. Paul'* mechanic obviously installed it incorrectly along with the oil pan gasket.
At this point he'* trying to push it through as a GM warranty but I'm over the warranty millage.
I put a vote in for Saturn of St. Paul - St. Paul location to be put on the DO NOT USE list.

I definately have a spot you may want to post this. We have setup a section in www.MNBonnevilleClub.com to list out the good and bad dealerships to go to in the area.
