Oil in coolant, trans shot... Future??
Well after 160K on my L27 I guess thats not bad! Anyway I am now faced with the replacement options Supercharged L67 is on the top of my list but I can't help but wonder what other motors will fit into these cars?? I have heard rumors of 4.5L-4.9L caddy motors fitting... But what else? DOHC LQ1 perhaps But what about electronics? How much electrical work would be needed besides the new engine harness and PCM??

That depends on what kind of car your attempting to do this with?

Not sure about the 94'*. If your going to go with an L67, you will need a matching PCM, harness, transmission etc.
Caddy engine? I have no idea if the engine and trans will bolt in. And I have no idea if the engine will bolt to your existing transmission. Others here might know.

Warren, be careful you don't sink more money into your car than it is worth. If you are able to change engines and repair your transmission for the cost of parts it is worth doing the work. If you have to pay someone to do this, don't spend more than the value of a good running 94 Bonneville.

While the advice above is valid, it is up to you what you want to get out of the car.
What is it that you are after? Just more power? If so, consider taking on a Series 2 L67 swap. Not only is it 240hp out of the box, but the upgrade possibilities are pretty endless. With a full on drivetrain swap that you need, you will probably be better off sourcing a donor car. Not only will that help any unforseen instances when the swap arises, but it will give you all the parts as well. Not even counting that cars wrecked are usually cheaper than parts.

And if you upgrade the PCM to at least a 97, tuning becomes a factor also if you decide to go modding.
