Yes...I would like to know the outcome of this...For I too get some hesitation shifting from park...after sitting overnight...BUT mine "seems" to only do that when it was COLD at night...below 30 deg F...(OHIO)...hasn't done it again since temp is 40+ deg'*..(at least so far)

hi all. just thought i'd throw in a bit of an update here. i rebuilt a 4T60-E out of a buddies 97 b-ville yesterday [120k miles]. he also was complaining of delayed engagement when first shifted after sitting for overnight etc.. i went in to it looking for that seal to be mis-formed/damaged. although it showed no signs of damage, it was quite 'worn' [semi hard/ 'shrunk']. the piston with the old seal moved quite easily in the housing, where as the piston with some new seals on it 'felt' much better. i overhauled the whole unit, even though the clutches looked good, they got replaced, as well as all the seals and gaskets. all the seals were quite 'beat' from all the heat cycles.
he called me this morning to let me know it went right into gear with no hesitation what so ever [ it'* 20 degrees and snowing this morning].
had i been thinking, i would have taken some pictures of the rebuild so you could get a clearer picture of what i am talking about.
that'* it for now, ~tbill
