As far as using oil. Tough to say because I still get oil drips every once an a while. The heads of a bunch of the bolts are almost always wet and it wet from higher up. Not wet enough for me to really stress over it. But I am sure I lose a little that way. Other than that, I have never noticed any significant drop in oil level.

I was lucky with my 95 and the fact that it had oil changes( I think it was Budget Rental car I forget off the top of my head )... The engine was clean when I got it and I have kept it that way... I have always been a stickler for oil changes.... The 91 LE wasn't too bad but I don't think the previous owners changed the oil like they should have towards the end... But after a few good changed it cleared up nicely...
On another note on my 95 L36, I have always used a bit of oil... Its never changed in 9 years, it still consumes what it did when I got it... Almost doesn't even matter what kind of oil it is, it still consumes pretty much the same amount...
Its funny tho, my cousins 95 SLE doe the exact same thing mine does for oil consumption... Neither of us have ever had an issue... I have driven 5000 miles on the oil and I believe that I added 3/4 of a quart just to bring it a tad above the full mark... Its due for an oil change

Meanwhile is the coolant consumption issue cured?
