New Strut ~ Same Air Compressor Problem
I replaced my rear ELC struts with gabriel struts about month ago. I had no problem but recently my air compressor pump constantly runs. I not sure if its the motor or if I have a leak in the lines. If it is the lines what is the best way to fix or replace them.

Look to see if the sensor arm in the right rear suspension is hooked up to the little nub on the a-arm and is not broken off the sensor itself. Is the rear of the car really high? If it is, you probably don't have a leak, if it isn't, you've got a leak. You can wash the struts with really soapy water and look for bubbles. Or possibly the air line came disconnected from a strut. Look for it to connect near the top of each rear strut.

Besides the connections at the struts, the air line tubes and all that stuff, there is a check valve that can go bad inside the compressor, as well as the compressor itself.

ELC compressor
The height sensor limits compressor run time to a range of 4.5 to 7.5 minutes. This prevents continous compressor operation in the case of a large system air leak. In the IP junction box is the ELC relay and I guess if the contacts were stuck together the pump would run all the time [key on or off it looks like from the wiring schematic]. Never seen that though. Usually when the pumps runs all the time and never timers out it is the height sensor connected to the right rear control arm. Hope this helps.
