So that is why I get wacky readings , I will have to replace tank if fuel pump ever goes. Yes 92 can start right up mine I just hit the key fire right up,most time don't even her it crank. What reading that you got on the line. The other is my car started quicker after I went to mobil 1.

That'* a typical method of failure. It'* taking too long to build pressure. By bet would be if you turned the ignition on for about 30 seconds, then tried to start, it would fail due to the fuel leaking back and bleeding off pressure.

It could go this morning, and it might go a couple months. Just one of those things.

Let'* also remember,

Bleed back can be caused by the fuel pressure regulator as well.

Who had the book on this year to get the proper testing procedure for both pump and regulator?

This one is the pump in my book. Not building pressure quickly enough during prime. I have the same issue with my 95, although not as bad yet.

I had the same problem just before winter last year with the 90 SSE ( 475, Klm.) This happened just after I changed the fuel pump, sending unit and filter. It cranks for about 20 seconds before it would start but always started right away after the second try. I never figured out what the problem was, but when it got colder it started on the first try so I left it. Now that it'* warmer out again it seems to start after about 3 to 4 seconds on the first try so I gave up trying to figure it out and live with it now. I hope you figure yours out.

I would say check ya fuel pressure reg. first its a 1 minute job. take the vac hose off after your car has been running and see if its leaking gas.

I have the same exact problem for a long time now, however my fuel pump is still working. I just took on the habit of letting the system pressurize before I strike it to start.
