Need tires, but SO confused on sizes!
Tires.com shows 225/60'* as stock, thats all good because I don't want to mess up the OD by changing the rate the tire spins. They also list 235/60'* as the next step up, but also in 16" size. Would that be taller as well as wider or just wider? If I can maintain a 60 ratio but go wider that would rock, otherwise 225/60 is my route.
I'm keeping 16" rims no matter what, and don't want my speedo or OD to be different.
Anyone know the specifics?

The 235/60 will be wider and taller as well. The second number is the height of the sidewall, in terms of percentage of the width of the tire. 60% of 235mm means that the sidewall for that tire is 141mm. On a 225/60 tire, the sidewall is 135mm high. Going with the wider, taller tire will actually get you more miles traveled than expressed on your OD without any penalty to the number of revolutions on the powertrain. You will, however, take a hit on acceleration since the larger tire is heavier and will increase your gear ratio. Your real concern should be with going to a smaller tire, in which case a typical drive to work will register as more miles on the OD than in reality, and you'll take a hit in fuel economy (but at least your acceleration will be better!).

the proper plus zero would be a 235/55/16 but you can go with a 245/50/16 theyre just a little wide on yer 7 inch rim and a little short, they would bulge a bit and wear the center a little faster.

well if youre looking for all season tires, wider is not exactly better, especially for the white stuff... im fortunate enough to have two sets of rims and i bought a set of VERY aggressive tires, they are firestone firehawk sz50 ep'*... paid $113 a piece at tire rack, but very well worth it... let me know if you want a few pics, i go snap a few..

I want all-season, yet something suited for the track on the weekends. Anything is better than what I have now, and if I can run 14.2 with these tires...well ANYTHING is better.
235/55/16'* sound nice, but I asked Seth and Bfest and is speedo is slightly off...actually way off for trap speeds. Stock 225/60/16'* may keep me happy because I don't want to change tires between seasons and am keeping these wheels (no swapping this time).

Not bad. My traction is rated the same, and I was pulling 2.2'* this weekend everytime! Gotta count for something. The tread pattern looks good for performance, and wear.
I'm not sure how 245'* would run in snow though, so you may want to stick with 225'* like suggested.

thats why i kept my stock 16s with Dunlop Sport A2 225/60/16s mounted up, for the little snow driving I plan on doing in the Bonne. (im gonna drive the beater 91 Lumina Euro in the snow)
