Update....

Got the stud drilled out no problem.
APN manifold went in great. Just need to put the belt and the exhaust crossover back on, then Ill fire it up.

I used some silicon to seal up the water jacket under the TB, should be ok.
Replaced a few vacuum lines here and there, old ones were ash....

I have to admit Im a little nervous, hope I didnt do anything wrong...
Ill find out tomorrow!!

Bob

As the title says, its running great!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only have a minor vacuum problem, with the small line (7/32")fom the manifold to the "accessory" port on the firewall.

I replaced the tubing with a fresh one, and now I can hear a "hissing" sound that goes away when I squeeze it. I also have air coming out of the bottom vents only, no dash vents/defrost, which I assume is vacuum controlled..

Anyone have any ideas as to what I need to do next?? The tubing is new, but somewhat "spongier" than the old one which seems stiffer/stronger..

THANKS A MILLION for the Tech info section, it is truly a "Bible"

That little line feeds a vacuum reservoir on the firewall that supplies vacuum for the vacuum "motors" or diaphragm valves that open and close several ducts in the air handling system. Sounds like you have a hose disconnected, or a damaged reservoir, or tee fitting. I believe you have described the "default" vent setting when vacuum is lost. There are some great articles on how these work and how to fix them. Here is one: http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=75593

Could you have inadvertently disconnected a line to the reservoir? On my '95 there are two lines that connect in a modified tee fitting which then connects into the reservoir. One is a rubber line from the UIM (the vacuum source) and the other is a nylon line to the cruise control servo. And, there is the line from the reservoir that feeds the vent motors. Maybe that got knocked off when you undid the vacuum feed line to the UIM?

Wow!!!

Bill you really are a John Henry!!!

Doing all that work just to help me out!!!!

Turns out I pulled the vacuum line from the firewall. Found it in about 5 minutes..

You can put that engine back in now!!!

Thanks for the guidance..... **salute**

So far so good....No knocking from the bearings!!!!!!!!!
