dang. Its started to get hot again.
I noticed today, as I had it idling on the driveway (after another fruitless air bleed) that as the temp kept going up (close to 240 in one instance) my cooling fans NEVER ONCE CAME ON. Cearly, this can't be right...
I checked the wires to the fans, and the fuses, and the wire that goes to the coolant temp sensor (?) under the thermostat. All seemed okay. Is there something else I should be checking? perhaps my sensor itself is bad? The thermostat is definitely opening. The level in the overflow tank hasn't changed at all.
I think its time for a 180 degree thermostat, another good flush, and new hoses at least :\
EDIT: Forgot to mention, the fans DO work when the AC is turned on.

zOMG NEW DEVELOPMENT!!!1
I got to school today and there was some steam wafting through the grille. Appeared to be going straight through the AC thing, but there was no steam on the other side of the radiator.
Probably got a slight radiator leak :\ Great. Add that to the shopping list I guess.

Here'* a few links that may help:
http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...t=cooling+fans - same issue I had on my '93, just ran hot all the time, even in cool weather. having any wierd issues with your ECC at all?
Here'* another link with ECC/running hot issue:
http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...t=cooling+fans - again, have you noticed anything weird with your climate control?
May want to consider running manual switches to your radiator fans, here'* how:

An easy way to try and see where the leak is ...would be remove the 4 10mm bolts along the top of the radiator and 3 holding the tops of the fans on. Then remove the plastic rad support and look between the radiator and condensor.

I haven't suffered any problems like described in wildman'* posts, thankfully.
The car seems to stay under 225 even when sitting in traffic, so I'm not paranoid about it overheating, but still, I find it strange. At 50mph, it seems to fluctuate between 200 and 220. My HVAC system works perfectly, and my cooling fans work when the AC is on.
I think I'm just going to drive around with jugs of water and coolant in my trunk till summer
When summer comes, I'll replace the radiator, the hoses, get a 180 deg. thermostat and drill it, flush the cooling system again, get some Water Wetter, and a new fan relay, cap and temp sensor. Might as well just overhaul the cooling system. So...uh...where can I find the cooling fan relay anyway?

GM doesn't have these things labeled at all. Anyone know which relay runs the cooling fans on a '95 SSE? I've got the maxifuse center open, but I'm having trouble tracing the wires to the fans.
According to Standard Motor Products, there'* an auxillary fan relay and a regular fan relay. Is this true? Where is the second relay located then?
