Default I NEED HELP

I removed my screen and also removed the air box and replaced it with a cone air filter . Now in the morning the car makes a LOUD sucking noise for the first 4 mins. then it goes normal Sometimes the idle goes up & down for about 10 times and i have to give it gas for it to stop should i do something or just let the car adapt? There is more power lots more but will i break something? Lot'* more power!!!By the way when I removed the screen I figured the airflow would be messed up so bought the TORNADO to help staighten it out . My friend'* , That was 55.00 well spent gas milage went up about 40 miles a tank But is it enough to provide accurate readings to the air sensor? :?

Are you still using the Acordian Tubing that came with it ?? If you are.. that maybe why you're idle is jumping up and down.. the tubing cause a lot of air turbulance ( especially if it gets stretched out a little ). I would simply get a stainless steel tubing to run it and do a CAI system with the cone filter.. or if you can't afford it.. simply put back your airbox.. gut the internals of the airbox :? .. The resonator piece within it also causes too much turbulance.. if you don't want to get that route.. see if you have a small piece of the small MAF screen left and attactch it right in front of the MAf sensor... be careful that it'* secure, the last thing you want is for that to go flying through your intake

VZE, take that damn tornado piece of crap out of there. It CAUSES turbulence. It swirls the air by design. You want the air coming in STRAIGHT even if if is turbulent, rather than swirling turbulence. That'* the same idle symptom I saw with mine. Are you SC or NA?

General rule of thumb with intake mods.....especially for our Bonnies:

If it doesn't get you MORE air, and it doesn't get you COLDER air, don't waste your time or money. There'* another thread around here somewhere where we discussed the tornado....hang on......here it is:

I totally agree with will concerning the tornado...
It has to get power through somehow.. and the way it does is through the air.. slowing it down...

Exactly. Let the physics class begin.

It'* not air velocity that helps. You can't get anywhere by getting air into the intake faster, it'* all about volume, pressure, and density.

Did I ever mention what water injection does to air density?

Ok, I'll shut up.

Yes.. that'* so true about your water injection idea... ( will you hurry the hell up with it ??? ha ha ha.. kiddin.. ).. and the faster the air goes in.. the more volume you can compress.. the density is where the water injection comes in... hee hee... awaiting the water injection from Will is like waiting for Christmas...kiddin.. ha ha ha.. just felt like buggin ya

You big chunk of Canadian Bacon. I'm out the door in about 10 minutes to find a better tank.

The tank I built will work, but I'm not entirely pleased with it. I'm looking at the possibility of a propane tank, but I still need to drill and tap other fittings into it (it might be too thin to do that unless I weld backing plates at each location) and I need a way to EASILY fill it with water.

Got my 2 switches and LED'* mounted day before yesterday. They look COOL.

This weekend I'm changing the seal on the sunroof and installing a hitch...AND
working on H20.

I'm close, so GIT OFF MY ***!

Default What is cai

I'm not sure what that means . If the stainless steel tube is longer will it be better . Not super charged . Still using the according thing. ABOUT TO MAKE CUSTOM AIR BOX WITH RAM HOOD. Should I or not? Platinum +4 spark plugs suck . Got msd wires , but need a racing coil any suggestions . Should have asked you guys about the tornado but I seriously think it works just fine and I under stand all the words your talking about just scared to F$@K the car up again! Any mods to the tranny out there?PLz do not say cia means cool air intake or I will slap myelf cause I'm thinking it'* a little more harder than that and if it is WHO MAKES IT? WHERE CAN I BUY IT . I LOVE DIRECT BOLT-ON . NEED A BOLT-ON EXHAUST! plz help

First off, you might want to try it without the Tornado for comparison. Disconnect your battery for 30 minutes after pulling it out or putting it in, and do some real driving both ways.

A custom ram air hood is something that'* been discussed before. I personally think it'* a great idea. Speedguy is your tranny mod dude, and either him or angry duck will be the source for the CAI (you're right about what it means )

Your exhaust? You'll do fine just taking it in to a muffler shop, and tell 'em what you want. Nobody makes a bolt-on for the Bonnie.....yet.
