Default Low fuel Buzzer

Anyone know how I can disable that buzzer that goes off when I give the car gas when I am low on fuel, if i goes up a step hill and the gauge goes down the car starts "beep beep beep beep" and it drives me nuts..lol

Thanks

The chime that you want to kill is the same chime that warns you of other issues too. The simple solution is just to simply fill up when you get to a quarter of a tank, and you are not spending any more money than you normally would have. Also, your fuel pump will thank you.

It would appear the real issue is your fuel tank baffles have broken loose. This allows your fuel to slosh around. Some have experienced stalling and other issues when on hills etc.

92-93 commonly had issues with broken baffles.

I didn't realize it was that bad. Boosty is right, the tank will need to be dropped, as the issue is only going to get worse. How old is the fuel pump in there? I am curious to see if the gearheads recommend replacing that while you are in there.

Honestly.. I don't know if it would get worse. I had this type of problem after I had run over a retread. All of a sudded I'd stall on turns or hills with 1/4 tank of fuel. It'* no fun...lol

If your gonna drop the tank, I would swap out that pump/sending unit IMO.

Might as well order new tank straps and mounting hardware. Its easier to just cut the rusted old straps, then remove the hardware and replace afterwards. Don't be surprised if someone comes in here offering the idea of using velcro to hold your tank up.

Dumb question, along the topic line.
If the fuel sender is broken (gauge is always on full), this means i won't ever get a check gauges light or a low fuel beep or anything, correct? 97 sse.

I'm lucky, my car is pretty much rust free with the exception of a little on the right rear fender, which will soon be fixed, up underneath is like the day it was made, tank and straps are like new, the car was never winter driven all its life, never seen salt, and barley seen rain, and it was always stored in a heated shed.

No she never ever stalled out just the hand goes down alot. Even if I run on fumes pretty much, she never ever stalls out. so I don't think i'm going to mess with it.

is there anyway to trick that darn beaper to think the tank is full all the time, because its only that constant beep during acceleration thats annoying
