Loud whirring

Well, it sounds like the oil pump in your trans is cavatating(sp) or not getting oil. I understood why it happened to mine after I took the pan off. Metal shavings had clogged the filter and prevented the oil from going from the filter to the pump.
I suggest dropping your pan and take a look. Only cost ya about 5 quarts of oil, a new filter and gasket. When you buy the gasket/filter kit, get the one with the rubber gasket. Makes it much easier to reinstall IMO.

Ok, after many weeks of looking at my car in the driveway, I finally got around to working on it.I replaced the tranny filter and it has improved, but not fully. If will take off if I take off slowly. It goes into gear ok, but when I take off quickly, the tranny still slips badly. I have a transmission pressure tester, but I am not sure which hose I need to test it from or how much pressure I should have. Anyone know???? Thanks.
