Default light on the gear labels

How do you fix the light under the gear labels R, N, D, etc. It works when it'* in park after I first start it, then it doesn't work again?

We are assuming you have a console shifter, correct?

Ok if you insist.. (j/k) Sorry about the delay

Put e-brake on.. turn key on and apply brakes..move gear selector to 1 or 2. On front of selector handle (cobra head) is a little push in u shape clip. Pull it out a 1/4-3/8 push in on release button and pull up.

Pull out ashtray, remove two screws from below (7mm). From ashtray area lift front of center console up, it will pivot on it hinge.

Look down. Near the front of your shifter is a white bulb holder. That should be the one.
