Overall, I thought it was an easy job.
You measure your master to know the length before going to the parts store.
Bench bleed (putting fluid in and pumping the master while it'* off the car.
Unhook current one (couple bolts and brake lines) hook up new one.
Bleed the whole system to ensure you get all the air out of all four brake lines.
It takes some time..with a friend...it'* a easy task.

Boosty, I agree with you. I have done it and it'* an easy job, but people'* lives ride on the brakes. If you’re not sure - take it in. To have them replace the master cylinder and bleed the system, it should not take too long or cost too much. Make a few calls…

I am going to do this myself as I am a stickler and do things exactly as they should be done. I just need some clarification. The hose on the left side of my reservoir runs to what I assume is the ABS. So I empty the original master with a turkey baster or something then go about removing it? Also are the lines going to start leaking on me once I remove them off the master? I mean I'm sure they will but I would think they would hold the fluid since one end is essentially pinched (bleeder valve closed). Also is there anything I should watch out for?? I mean I've called a few shops and prices range from $150 to $1500. A lot of guys are needing to see it because of the ABS. Is there anything I can tell them over the phone to make it more clear as to what system I have? Suggestions please.

the MOST IMPORTANT thing is to measure the current MC that is on the car....the replacement MUST be the same lenght.....we have seen bonnes with different length MC'* and the parts stores dont have the correct listings sometimes....

Update!!
I checked my brake fluid reservoir and it was really low
So I filled it up and the brake light and chime have stopped. I drove it around the neighborhood and nothing. parked checked for leaks and still nothing. Woke up this morning have driven it to work still nothing. Could that have been the issue or should i still have it checked?

Sounds good. Just check it for awhile once a day or so. If it got too low, you may need to bleed the brakes.
Drive on down. Driverjohn2005 is coming down from your neck of the woods to mine for the weekend. We have a Grand Prix Xmas party with the PDX crowd we race against at Woodburn every summer.
We'll bleed your brakes with you. EK98 will be here also.

I do think it'* time for the rear pads to be changed because I just did the fronts a couple of months ago and I have never checked the rears.
I'll pull the rear tires and drums off tonight and double check. Let ya know what I find.
