What are the colors of the wires?

Looking at the labels in the plugs, would it be safe to assume that the right connector is identical to the left connector, save pin 3 (which would be what, the reverse cancellation?)?

I guess editing a post doesn't bump it up.

Forget the 2 wire jack. Mine has a cover on it, and I recall it only needing three wires from one of Fuddy's older posts.

My 3 wires are all black, and my good probes for my multimeter (the small ones) are at work. I'm betting that Fuddy or Andy will jump in with the pinout before I can, but in case they don't, I can check mine tomorrow. One will be 12V, one will be ground, and you've opted out of the R signal. You need to know if you need that to be grounded or supplied with 12V. I don't know what state it looks for in the event of R being selected on the shift console.

You can go ahead at this point with identifying your source 12V and ground location. Just 2 wires. We'll take it from there as the info comes in.

As you can see in the pic, term 1 (nearest the post) and 3 are marked. 1=12v, 2=Grnd, 3=Reverse switch. And if anyone is interested, the 2 pins on the other connector are for the LH Outside mirror control, which to the best of my knowledge, no Bonnevilles were equipped with, but might make for an interesting project!

I installed one in my '87 B-body (the BIG wagon) and it was a snap. Just ran 2 wires up the A-pillar across the top of the windshield, off of an acc fuse and works perfectly!

Here's my two cents to add to this topic, just to help anybody else doing this.

I pulled the old mirror off, pulled the passenger side A-pillar cover off, pulled the front 4" of the headliner down (if you do this, be VERY careful to not break the foam in the headliner and it will be much cleaner and easier to re-glue to the roof), and clipped the new mirror on.

Disconnected the wire harness on the mirror, cut off the plug and soldered two wires on to the ends (the pinout above is correct -- closest to the post is 12V, the middle wire is Ground). Plugged harness back into mirror. Ran the wires over to the passenger A-pillar, and spliced into the existing power/ground wires for my moonroof. Tucked all the wiring up into the headliner (if you push the wires back about 1", they will fit nicely where the curve in the headliner from the windshield is), put the wire covers over the wires between the mirror and the roof, and everything worked perfectly.
