I'd try a new plug for that cylinder, or moving it to a different one. I believe you replaced those before doing the gaskets. If coolant was indeed entering that cylinder, it could have messed up that plug.

Yeah...coolant in that cylinder can do nasty things to the plug. If nothing else, just swap #1 and #3 and see if the misfire moves. All it costs is a little time.

I don't know man, I'm not there, but it sounds like you have mechanical issues with your engine. Beyond the control side of it all.

ok guys today i decided to check the #3 spark plug. when i pulled it out it was ahy white. i checked another spark plug and it looked liked it should. so i swapped them to see what would happen. soon as i cranked the car, there was a lot of white smoke coming out the tailpipe. lots of it. so i drove around the corner to blow it out. once i got back home, there was not a sign of anymore smoke. also the plugs were not wet at all. not it seems that idle has smoothed out a very small amount, but the miss is still there. wheres the help everyone is looking but not helping thanks.

We're on page two of your problem and you're complaining about the help you're getting?

We're not going to go off in 10 different directions at one time. We'll give you things to check, you report back on the results then we'll move from there.

As there was coolant in that cylinder, I'm not surprised that the plug was white. As a result, that plug is likely bad. Replace the plug and see if things smooth out. I'm a bit concerned that you got a lot of white smoke when you started it. Has it been run long since changing the gaskets?

been driving it everyday since the change, and the smoke started on the first crank after i swapped the plugs

You got white smoke because there was probably coolant in that cylinder or the plug is bad and not firing.

As Archon suggested, please change ALL the plugs. Should cost a little over $6. Then report back on how it'* running. If the wires are not close to new, I'd suggest changing them at the same time to ensure they are good.

well guys today i have sum bad bad news. after i got off work i was driving and out the blue the car was running teribly worse than ever so i head to autozone. they scanned my codes and at first i only had a cyl3 misfire. now it random/multiple. he suggest change plugs and wires.after i buy them i go back to the car and the car doesnt want to start. after a couple minutes of trying, it starts,but badly.i sputter to the house and the temp guage is about to run hot.

i get home and take out 3plugs on front and all of them look horrible. so i put new ones in and realize steam and water is coming out of the air filter box. i take the filter out and it soaking with steam water.try to crank the car, no start again.finally it did but this time i have lots and lots and lots of white smoke coming out of tailpipes, and missing worse than ever. so i unscrew the oil cap and guess what i see.lots of chocolate milk and white cream and foam looking stuff all over it.and im very mad right now becuz the motor was just broke down to the point of being able to do the headgasket. i just wish this would have happened before everything was put back together.
so do i repair or get rid of at this point?
