A kind of off topic question, are the charging ports on all R134a the same? The reason I aksed is because my charging tube from an R134a retrofit kit doesn't fit my 96 bonne charging port. Any thought?

Yes..134A is a standard port and the sizing is differen than an R12 fitting.
The high and low pressure fittings are also different sizes to keep from charging the wrong side.

I know that. But in retrofitting, the R12 port has been converted to an R134a port and I am pretty sure I didn't tried on the high presure port. The high pressure is too big to fit either, anyway.

It is a standard R134a retrofit kit. This one, in fact. So I don't know why.
Oh, well, maybe id-usa just slightly changes how their charging tubes and charging ports in their kits look so that their product from them fit with each other perfectly but don't fit others. The charging tube actually can go onto the charging port on my bonne, but it doesn't snap on. Maybe it'* time to look for another charging tube.
