how many miles before fuel pump craps out ??
My 98 has 175K never chgd the fuel pump. It has about 38 psi pressure and I always keep above 1/4 tank and chg filter every year. Is it possible that it could last another 25k miles ??

I changed out mine at 120K on my 99 this past summer.
It wasn't dead, but I was getting sluggish aceleration. I was only getting ~37 lbs. of pressure at the rail. And it would drop when I rapped on the gas. Now that I have the new pump I'm getting ~ 42 lbs. that'* constant.
IMO, I would change your pump. That'* a lot of miles on one pump. So, if you'll have to do it sooner or later, you might as well do it now instead of getting stuck on the side of the road.

I'm at 155,000 on the 97 SSEi, have 44lbs at idle and 60lbs at WOT.. varies with pedal in between.
Test the pressure again and rev it a little..see if the pressure remains constant, goes up and holds steady or drops.
Anything but drop, I wouldn't worry about.
