Well, first I want to start off by saying never let your exgirlfriend take off with your car...because it will come back to you on a rollback with a nice loud rod knock. She apperently drove it a month and half with no oil pressure. A MONTH AND HALF ^%$%#&#!!oneone. I'm surprised it lasted that long with no pressure. I've priced used series ii 3800s with warranties, and they seem pretty reasonable. I have access to air tools and a decent set of hand tools, and can rent a cherry picker.
So my question is, whats involved with pulling the engine? I'm not going to have to drop the subframe am i?

it is very easy to take our motors out the top. If you dont have a lift, it is the easiest way. Getting the car high enough with jackstands or similar to drop the subframe is nearly impossible.

Subframe, to me, is really only sensible for the transmission (because it comes out in halves). The motor would be EASIEST up the top, because there is tons of room up there. Lots of room to slide the motor to the passenger side to clear the bellhousing, and lots of room up top. I'd say go for it.

The car is in good shape. Good luck with the engine swap.
