Ok, I tried the taking off the cables for an hour and reattaching them, but it didn't work. I pulled them for the night, maybe it will work tommorow? A guy can dream. Thinking about going and getting one of the cheap handheld readers tommorow and see if that will tell me anything. Will that work? thanks

Check all fuses on every fuse box related to the ignition and startup sequence. Have you tried starting it by crossing the contacts on the starter?

Default Code 58

Hey, I plugged in the code scanner on my bonne and got a code 58, the book says this is the VATs system. Any way to bypass it and find out for sure?

Default nope

no, I took the coils back, everytime I tried them they blew the fuse. heck, they practically melted the fuse! I decided that I would wait and get some quality coils when I had more money. And I really didn't think I was going in the right direction to solve the intial problem I was trying to fix ! And that is the car falling on it'* face when I mash the gas. Thanks for everything though BTW, If anyone in the Raleigh, NC area needs to plug in and get their codes I now have an Actron Code Scanner. IT isn't high dollar, but it will give you the codes!

funny, that is what my father used to do on his 82 Olds Delta 88 when I was 18, but I couldn't remember how to do it! It has been 18 years!

The car is still falling on it'* face. I was so happy to get it running that I havn'e even messed with that issue anyway.! My next step is to check the O2 sensor and whack the cat a few times and see what it sounds like. I have fixed several vacuum lines, but that didn't help.
