Ya no kidding, did you drive it there? I think you maybe getting ripped...I don't think that you're engine'* finished off. It takes A LOT to kill a 3.8 liter....Bullet Proof. So what did your mechainc say was fried? If you are interested in parting it out...I want 1st dibs on the */C pulley if possible....If not I'll take the whole SuperCharger unit.

Yeah seriously, what tests did he do to determine it was broken beyond repair? There'* a slim chance of the oil pump 'suddenly' going out. And thats only if it managed to suck something heavy into it, which is why the oil pan screen is there. Trusted mechanic or not, he still has bills to pay.

My money is still with the sensor or pressure relief valve. If $3000 is worth 20min of your time, you should check those pieces out.
