Default Heating Question

I am a little lost on this. I have a 96 SSEI with climate control. What is happening is sometime I don't get any heat at operating tempature, but when I turn the car off and turn it back on I get heat. What would be causing this?

P.*. What is the button on the bottom of the rear view?

I just purchased the car a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks for your help Steve

not sure about the problem with the heat, but the button on the bottom of the rear veiw mirror is to adjust the sensetivity of the Auto diming mirror

Quite likely the air mix actuator is starting to go. Here'* one recent thread on it. Using the search at the top of the page with either air mix actuator, or simply actuator in the 92-99 forum will get you lots of information.

When this happens, does your temperature flash on the ECC?

The button on the mirror doesn't adjust the SENSITIVITY of your auto-dim mirror, your car is new enough that it simply turns it on and off.

Early 90'* up through 94 or 95 had hi-lo sensitivity. You have on/off.

Sorry it has been so long but yes the temperature does flash on the ECC, after I restart the car.

Please read the link Archon posted.

Most likely that is the problem with your car. The actuator.
