My double image was clear too. In the bright light it looked fuzzy because of the second image, but at night they were crystal clear and I thought about just living with it. In the end I decided to take it back to the installer (who is a perfectionist) and he went berserk - "you can't drive with that staring at you!". And he changed it.

You can't tell the difference between a HUD glass and a standard glass just by looking at them, other than it will have "HUD" printed on it somewhere. Your wallet will know the difference, however!
