Got the Park Avenue!! Now, hard starts..
The starter is bad, it slips most of the time. Sometimes on the first try, or after several tries, it catches, and I can crank it. Tommorrow morning, i'm putting a new drive in it as well as spend a few hours looking things over at work.
Thats not the issue though. The issue is, when the starter works, the engine fires over, but dies instantly sometimes. Meaning, it will crank, fire up, the tach will only jump to 1000-1100 rpm and then nosedive to 0.
Tonight, I did an oil change on it. Put a Wix filter on, and poured the crank full of Mobil one 10w30. I then tried to start it. It kept dying. Took several mins to get it to start, and i left it running. Once running, the car runs real good. Doesn't miss, has plenty of power on tap, and idles smooth. Its a 3800, and it sure runs like one!
Anyways, I can probably figure it out, but just be nice to have a little help when i go in tommorrow and try to diagnose this problem.
Anyways, lovin the car, but it needs tlc. Sounds like a good on-going project for me!!

The Engine starts off the ICM... After 400 Rpms the PCM should take over the control... If the PCM does not take over you will get the Vrrrrrrrrrr to 1000-1200 Rpms and then dead...
Either the ICM is not handing over control, or the PCM is not taking control..
At the least these are the 2 parts I'd try... Do you have an ICM that you could swap in? Or a PCM?
Also check to see if there are any stored codes

Changed the starter yesterday. Finally. The old one was on its last breath. The problem was in the drive, the old drive was wore out. Fires up good now.
It still does this sometimes, but as for now, it fires on the dot. I will then have to do a good full tune up. I'll also see if i can use a scanner to monitor the PCM, and make sure everything is in proper working shape.
It definitly needs alot of TLC. Mostly in the suspension, and tires as its got a worn strut on the RF and skinny 205/75r15'*. Time to do a total suspension overhaul soon! Can't wait to start on it. For now, its liveable. Thanks for the help anyhoo.
