Oh, okay, I misunderstood; I thought he was pounding on one of the blank filler buttons...

Andy...I thought the same. Either way..if his car has the tc and the button is messed up..I just picked on up....if it'* just a blank filler and he wants to make it look like it has it...I've got it...and if it is a filler then you are on the money.

If it'* a '93 (like mine) and actually has Traction Control, the Traction Off button is gray, like the Sport/Econ shift-point buttons forward of it, and has the same amber indicator light in the corner that the others do. There are two blank fillers to the rear of it, where I think the ride-control selectors were added later on.

What the '92 had, I don't know, but the car in question here is a '93, right?

no, I'm sure it has traction control as it has every option from what I see. I just think the button was broken or the spring was gone from the button, or something..No, I'm not retarded and sat there *dunk, dunk, dunk* on a filler button. I see what kind of respect I get around here! haha.

Didn't get the car today because he wouldn't take a check..blah...just my luck...

Well, neither would I. Come to think of it, neither would you, right? He should have at least accepted a deposit by check, though, until you got back over there with a cashier'* check or whatever.
Yeah I probably wouldn't either. but if I was the guy selling it and he was me I would have..ugh..can give address and number, husker check to a husker fan, and i'm sure he'* aching to get rid of his bonne.

Rotate the tires. Eventually the (current) front ones will come clean after a few washings, because when they're on the back wheels, they won't get any worse.
I'll probably just put my stock ones from my 98 sse on it otherwise I have some chrome rims I can put on it once I get it cleaned up a bit.

Cool. The side bolsters weren't torn, either? That'* nice.
Surprisingly enough seeing as how the car was so dirty. passenger side is worn but no tears.

POWER LOCKS DON'T WORK!! Forgot to mention. Does this cost a lot to fix? Car locks but doesn't power unlock. This could have been from a cd player he must have had in the car, this happened to my buddy in his 93 because he doesn't know how to hook electronics up anymore than Anna the blind Ape. Let me know!

No offense, really... You should see some of the questions we get around here. Not trying to make fun of you at all...

If they'll clunk one way but not the other, that'* not as bad as if they were stone dead. We can probably figure this out after you get the car. I wouldn't worry about that, although maybe you could use that as a bargaining point to get the price down...?

It'* interesting that you say only the Unlock side is bad, because the Unlock wire to the door control switches is black, as if it was a ground wire (but it really isn't; this was a dumb bit of color coding by GM). It'* possible that some twit found the black wire somewhere between the door switch and the door lock relay assembly, thought it was a ground wire, and hung the CD player wiring on it.

Bought the car today!!

Here'* what I plan to get done, hopefully, hopefully, by the end of the month to it. Nothing real special planned for it as it'll be my long trip driver/winter car, but I won't drive nothing that won't turn heads.

Plan on cleaning and reconditioning it at work this week.

Replacing the front bumper, would like to get one color matched from the JY but if not I'll have to paint it, this one has a lot of chips.

NEED TO KNOW WHAT ALL COLOR CODES GM HAS FOR RED ON THE 93 SO I CAN GET SOME TOUCH UP PAINT, PLEASE HELP!

Already put the stock cd player from my car into it.

Going to take all plastic moldings and swap them out with the ones in my car that vary from "looks excellent" to "half-assed" paint jobs.

Putting the "3-spoke" rims on in place of the ghetto golds, hopefully tomorrow.
(eventually putting the extra chrome rims I have on it til they're sold..see my post in For Sale or Trade)

Rubber undercoating some of the belly of the car and the wheel wells.

Fixing little things on the inside, such as the console, replacing one vent on the back of the console, the traction control button problem.

We'll see what happens from there. I've taken a few before shots already Thanks for all the help everybody, I'm sure I'll have plenty more questions shortly.

Can you pull the right codes off the RPO sticker in your trunk?

Have you got the Keyless Entry transmitters for it?

Looking forward to seeing those...

P.*. If you haven't rounded up the Factory Service Manuals yet, please do; they'll pay for themselves real quick...

I'll do that once I get done taking my break from working on the car.

I asked the guy and he said he didn't even know there were transmitters (aka he probably lost them or his sister did, as she had the car for a few years before he had it)

---Rain has halted my progress of now, so far I spray painted some chips and stuff with red spray paint, removed the floormats and soaked them with Greased Lightning for a good pressure washing, fixed the weather stripping on the passenger rear door, and removed the rear passenger ghetto gold, sprayed black rubber undercoating on a few places where rust is starting to occur, and spray painted the rest of the wheel well and caliper black. Going to put the stock 98 sse rims on once the rain is done. What a project..---

---just realized I could start removing the plastic pieces from both cars and swap them once it'* done raining, might do that today, might not, we'll see...---

did you try locking and unlocking from both passenger and drivers side? Sometimes it is just the switch that goes bad. Not sure if the bonneville is this way, but some run off the drivers door switches and if that goes bad, the rest act funny.

Nice purchase though. Is it the same color as my red 93? if it is I have a picture of my RPO codes and I can get you the paint code from that.
