Fuel tanking wiring - NEED HELP!
I removed the fuel tank on a 99 Bonneville. I had disconnected the 3 wire harnesses, but one of the connectors still got ripped off as I removed the tank from the car. I figured "no big deal, I'll just hard wire them together..." Now that I am putting everything back together I notice that on one side I have black, green and gray. The other side is green, orange with black strip and gray with black stripe. Can anyone suggest how these wires are supposed to go together?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Maybe a few thoughts on where to start when no exact information is being posted.
I have not replaced the fuel pump on the Bonneville, but I have replaced three or four OEM fuel pumps to the updated GM DELPHI fuel pump on the S10/Blazer/ Bravada.
All the updates pumps required splicing and updating the harness. The wire colors did not all match, but DELPHI had a instruction booklet on how to match up the wires.
I suggest you do a search for DELPHI fuel pump wire harness diagram, and look for colors, wires, etc that match both your old and new. I think there may be a course of action to solve your wiring riddle.
Below is one I found for a OEM to DELPHI on a 2001 Caddy DHS. It may provide some clues:
New Connector (4 pin flat) Black Purple Gray/White Black (Small diameter)
(shipped with order)
Old Connector (Four Pin Square) A - Purple B - Gray
C - Black D - Black/White (Small Diameter)
I connected Black to Black
Purple to Purple
Gray to Gray/White
Black to Black/White

The one with 3 wires is your fuel tank pressure sensor. The one with 4 wires is fuel level and fuel pump. That much I do know. What I DON'T have access to anymore is Alldata for my 97 SE, now its my 97 SSEi which is different than what he has. Grrr.

OK, so based on your input, the 3 wires I don't have connected (cuz I don't know which wire goes to what) are for the tank pressure sensor. If I don't reconnect them, then what happens? Will the car not run?

It will probably run, but your going to get a EVAP code of some sort. Which would fail inspection if it needs to pass emissions.
For $26 you can have access to all the schematics you will ever need for your car. I use this all the time.
