Yes. You have circled the fuel lines correctly (black) and you're correct that the other valves are a part of the AC system. You are looking for similae valves under the engine cover on the fuel rail.

Nice descriptive pic, BTW.

I believe the fuel filter on a 98 is closer to the gas tank. On earlier years (like mine) it'* under the front passenger'* feet, just inside the frame rail.

On my '96, the filter is still under the passenger'* feet.

I believe the valve is marked by the green circle. It'* either there or on the left side of the engine, but I know it'* on the front half.

Thanks guys, this is great. I'll be going out to get parts in a bit over an hour.

It terms of the fuel filter -- at the passengers feet I see the attached image. Is it under the access panel in the pic, more towards the engine, or more towards the tank?

Alright, found the fuel filter -- after picking up the new one it became very clear which part it was -- and it'* under the *rear* passenger side seat for me.

Once the engine cools a little bit I'll try doing the above steps. I found what I believe is the fuel pressure release valve under the plastic piece right next to the oil fill hole.

I believe it was 1997 that the fuel filter changed location.

I can get the hose disconnected at the fuel filter side but not at the connection to the gas tank. I had surgery on my wrist about 4 weeks ago and am having a tough time getting it disconnected with just the one hand or using the second hand as I cannot bend it at all in the brace it is in.

I'll try again after I take the dog to the vet -- please let me know if anyone has any suggestions.

When you bleed off the fuel pressure at the schreader valve put a rag over it to catch the fuel. No need to spray it all over the place. It'* just like letting the air out of a tire.

Alright, I'm open to any suggestions as to how to get that stupid "quick" disconnect detached from my gas tank. It'* not a problem on the connection to the fuel filter, but I can't get two fingers in to press both sides of the one connecting to the gas tank at the same time. I can disconnect one side and pull on the tubing to keep it from snapping back, but I am unable to get the second side pressed in to slide it off. I've been working on it for >2 hours now and it'* really pissing me off.

It'* also leaking like crazy now when I drive the car...

Ridiculous. I got the connector off -- somehow -- and cleaned up the connections. I will replace the fuel filter, but couldn't because I only have one visegrip and I wasn't sure if I needed to turn the filter clockwise or counter-clockwise to get it to come off. I drove around the block and so far no more leaks -- we'll see after a couple of drives tomorrow. Thanks.
