Not with a 94. You need an OBD1 scanner with an OBD2 cable for a 94 or 95. Unless you know someone with this setup, you're talking dealer.

Ok...Changed the filter same prob, noticed the tranny shifting a little weird today too...I know the last tranny took a crap because of the torque converter acting weird loacking and unlocking and stuff, I dont know the details, It happened to my stepsister? Has anyone heard of a problem with these cars? This is the third tranny in this car? Is the lock up computer controlled? Cause the new tranny is using the converter that came with it.

The TCC or torque converter clutch is controlled by the computer. Not sure on 92-93... on later models there are other items that are paired up with the TCC. Willwren or another 92-93 will comment on your year.

I am trying to say it might be the computer controlling it or it may be another item malfunctioning and causing the computer to malfunction and cause the TCC to lockup.

I had your identical symptoms when my fuel pump failed as well. I would definately take a few minutes to put a gauge on the fuel rail and check it out. Maybe even tape it to the windshield and drive. Low pressure or a fluttering needle usually indicates a failing pump.

I'd go back to advance and get it scanned (should be free, much better than what the dealer will charge). See if there are any codes and report them back here. Some freindly gearheads wil chime in quickly when you do.

Good luck!

Ok updates...Ran a code check at Advance, and they said they couldnt check any secondary codes, so the only thing it came back with was a EGR position sensor fault. Now Im thinking maybe the ecm might be messing something up. Thought it might be the transmission solenoid, so I unplugged it, of course I didnt have 1st or overdrive but I drove a good 15 mins without it dying past 1/4 throttle, So I am completly stumped now!
