FNG to the Forum, not to Pontiacs...
New in the driveway tonight is a 1992 Bonneville SSE.
Dark green w/tan cloth interior.
49,350 original miles.
Clean for the most part with a couple of little dings and scratches.
Everything works except the horn, which the dealer will fix.
Paid a little too much, I think, at $4995.00 + $1500.00 for the 'extended warranty' 3yrs./36,000, BUT, it was my MOM who picked up the tab for me and my family so we'd have a good car...was that nice, or what?
I'm psyched about getting a newer Pontiac!
(I just got rid of a '77 Bonneville named Veruka Blue) and (the '79 Caprice Classic that replaced her just took a $565.00 **** with a timing chain failure that also turned out to be more than that. I hate Chevy motors. Her name was Vivica. She'* gonna go soon.)
We've got the 1992 GMC Jimmy 4-dr. 4X4 in good shape w/98,000 on it.
We've got the 1969 Pontiac LeMans sitting in the driveway minus the TH-400 and a paintjob. It'* got the Midnight Green interior, and despite my inclination to paint it Gunmetal Grey again, I think I'll go with the same Green the Bonneville wears...yeah, that'* the ticket!
That'* my story.
Glad there'* a place to go for info and tips on the new Bonneville!
(Now, I gotta think up a name for her...)

DO TO IT? I don't know! I just got it! And, that, of course, is why I am here.
Being the Obsessive, Compulsive, Manic, Depressive, with a 'touch' of Delusional Paranoia kinda guy that I am, uh, well, I'll probably start with finding out what problems this particular model year had and try to do the preventative maintainence first.
Make sure the brakes are good.
Then, I'll get new tires for the factory 'green' wheels. BFG T/A'*; whiteletter out.
Next, the tailpipe tips really suck. Those have to be replaced with something on the order of ANSA dual resonator tips.
The muffler probably needs a little more growl.
The air filter will be changed to a K&N for sure.
The engine will get the usual detailing (I've seen some creative ideas here already, and on another site with lots of Bonneville pix).
Tune-up parts of the best kind, with an emphasis on cool looking wires.
Any additives that may help extend the life of the motor.
The best oil & filter I can figure out for this car.
How am I doing so far?
I'm not going for the killer sound system yet 'cuz I haven't found out how this one is yet. I'm listening to James Brown and Tower of Power right now. I want to see if this system can gimme the Funk and Rythym&Blues with the Horns and the backbeat first. If it doesn't, I'll have to get serious with the sound system!
This is going to be FUN.
