Well at least the glass company is going to take care of your car for ya. And I'm pretty sure that IF YOU TRIED you could lose quite a bit of paint on that trip.....

I asked the paint guy if I should put something over it to stop the peeling. He said if it is going to peel he wants it to. IDK what that means but if 1/4 of the roofs paint comes off I am not forking over the extra $$ to fix it.

What the body guy wants is for however much of it to peel. That way when he does his prep work he won't have as much to do. The loose edge needs to come off anyway. This way when he finishes it looks good and stays adhereed.

Ask around amongst your buddies (or check out the local community college) and see who has painting skills. Shooting a roof is child'* play-a relatively flat surface that'* easy to get to. It'* not the topcoat that'* important, it'* the prep, and that'* also easy, but rather laborious.

You can probably buy all the equipment (borrow a compressor) to do it yourself for what the glass shop is going to pay, and when you're done, you'll have some new skills to use and tools to keep.
