So what do you think the issue with the transmission is?
The tech gave me the printout for P1670 so I know he thinks that is the correct code. He said since the transmission is on the QDM if one of the quad driver circuits is having a problem it basically causes problems in the whole system. Doesn't make any sense to me but I have never worked on any of the GM cars with QDM.

We are here to help!!
Billboost and SGP350 are our resident trans experts.
If the QDM truely did fail, then you may be needing a new PCM. But we'll put that on the back burner for now until Bill comes back in.
If you could, please put your year and trim level in your signature. Its' going to be needed later on when they come back in.

A QDM fault is typically caused by one of the items failing on the circuit that feeds. Meaning that usually the pcm is ok.
If no one with a 95ish pcm comes forward fisrt and confirms the trans is on #4 then I don't remember it being there..and I'll check when I get hom. If it'* on #4 then it'll be interesting to see what part is. I'd suspect maybe a soleniod etc.
Unfortunately if that'* the case..the problem is probably in the trans. If the trans isn't on #4 then the problem is still in the trans.

I did a little poking around and bad ECM came up a few times. 94s have a flaky ECM. It'* possible the ECM/PCM flaked out. Bill, what'* your thoughts on that?

I forgot to look last night. Anyone have a 94/95 FSM and can look up the code. There'* 3-4 things controlled by each quad driver. If the trans isn't on any of them, then it'* likely something in the trans.
The pcm is flaky in these years. Not usually for codes though. If you have a code, there'* usually a reason. On my old 95 everything worked great and I got a quad code. One of the soleniods was the BCS, while it was working 100% correctly..replacing it fixed the issue.

Okay so here is what I have found out. The transmission is on that same circuit. It is not throwing any transmission codes so for now there is no reason to think that the transmission is in any way bad. So from what I have learned I dont know all the things on that circuit but I know there is more than just the ac clutch and cooling fans. So I need help to find out what else is on this circuit so I can find the faulty component.

How do you know the Trans is on that driver? I'll be home in about an hour and should be able to look it up. But I don't believe the trans is on a quad driver.
